Assistant/Associate Professor Film Studies, Black Cinemas Emphasis
WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY FILM STUDIES DEPARTMENT invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor position with an emphasis on Black Cinemas beginning July 1, 2022. We seek colleagues with disciplinary interests in archival research and film form whose scholarship addresses the lived experiences and cultural contributions of communities of color. Our curriculum unifies media studies with production in a liberal-arts setting and emphasizes audience-centered artistic practice. Strong consideration will be given to teaching records of candidates and willingness to participate in ongoing curricular growth, diversification and decolonization of our program. Teaching load is two courses per semester.
